SYSC just released their newest full length, The Romance of Affliction
After 3 Singles(1,2,3) off the album were put out over the past month, the entire LP has been dropped and oh man does it live up to expectations, and more.
I strongly recommend giving this a listen if you're into any of their contemporaries like wristmeetrazor, If I Die First, Boundaries, Vein, OR if you're into the "mathcore" sound of older bands like Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, Underoath(to a certain extent), Converge.
Despite holding similarities with the artists I listed, The Romance of Affliction proves that SYSC has a very unique, and individual sound. Taking many influences and transforming them into something that, sounds like SYSC.
Besides the singles, some "deep cuts" or my favorite tracks off the album would be:
- Life as a Soap Opera Plot, 26 Years Running
- With Arms That Bind and Lips That Lock
- The Romance of Affliction(title track)
All in all, I think anyone who sees this post should give them a listen!
