I try not to judge.

ok. bad start. I get it.

But, hear me out, it is really hard. How can you say trans men are men (which they are btw) but then also say they can be lesbians? or that pronouns do not equal gender when pronouns are gendered terms? I would like to know others opinions because it makes no sense to me. Not saying I wont judge though.

This misconception comes with the varied interpretations of gender.

To the people who believe gender doesn't equal pronouns, their belief of gender is that it's socially constructed. This belief comes from several queer theorists, most famously Judith Butler who claimed "gender is performative". Anyways, trans masc lesbians are a VERY layered topic. Some trans men self identify as lesbians due to either comfort ( within the lesbian community ) or because they feel good as a he/him lesbian. He/him lesbians are, in essence, people who solely believe gender is performative, a reflection of male / female characteristics of attraction, sexuality, identity lent from the binary genders that were defined by an inherently misogynistic society.
