how december went

Holy shit I'm a week late. Anyways hope ya'll had a great new years

it was really fun, for the most part. Most of the stuff happened later in the month. It was a nice month mostly bc of the sheer amount of vocalsynths released. I like vocalsynths. And there was hanukkah.

This month were finals, ugh. But there were also preparations for my scouts trip! we prepared for like a whole month for it, and although I got sick, it was really fun.

The trip was from the 20th to the 22nd. First day we got to our camping location around 4pm, so all we had time to do was set up the camp, make food, and go to sleep. There were two routes: the 10th graders went on one route on the 2nd day, and the 11th graders went the other route, and the next day we switched. The 12th graders were in a separate camping spot. The 1st route was very tough bc it was when I felt the sickest, but it was still quite fun and the route was simple enough for me to not feel like I was dying. I did have a short moment where I hallucinated that the mountains moved though- oh well, happens to the best of us. The last day, the 2nd route was the best. It was difficult, but I felt much better and it was lots of fun!! I was able to chat with others which I usually am not able to do due to anxiety. I returned home around 11pm, showered, and went tf to sleep.

But when I arrived home I also received the news that my great grandpa has passed at age 94. He was a holocaust survivor, but we unfortunately never got to hear his story because he never told us. I'm guessing because of trauma. It was pretty depressing to find out, as we later needed to take his stuff out of his apartment and no one bothered to clean it. Not even his caretaker. Yes I was upset about him passing, but I think his living conditions were the thing that truly shattered me.

But my dad still let me sleep over at my online friend's house after telling me about my great grandpa passing, so I was relieved. I feel like it definitely helped me distract myself from grieving. It was a 3-day sleepover. On the first day, I arrived to her town around noon. We hung out in the park near her house and just talked about how school was going. On the 2nd day, we stayed at her home and binged Inside Job. It was a pretty good series. On the 3rd day, we went to the nearest mall bc there are a lot of emo shops there and a lot of cool mall goths, punks scenemos and metalheads. It's kinda like a safe haven for gay edgy people. I returned home around 8pm and went right to sleep.

The next day was my great grandpa's burial and it was just a day full of crying. I went to sleep early bc I simply wasn't in the mood to do anything. I also had a math exam the next day and I failed it horrendously (38/100) because I simply did not want to do anything. And my mind kept wandering away and trying to comprehend everything that happened.

The new years celebration was kinda sucky. I wanted to celebrate it alone, or with some classmates, but my parents forced me to celebrate with them and their friends. It was REALLY lame. One of their friends brought over their toddler and he just screamed and inconvenienced me all the time. I hated it. It was already overwhelming enough as is that I just wanted to go back to my room and not celebrate. but that little kid screaming and my parents' and their friends' drunk blabbering were making the situation even worse. After it hit midnight I ended up running to my room and doing whatever I wanted that wasn't socializing with people.

So yeah. This December was a mess. But the vocal synth releases def made it better!

On December 2nd, two different synths were released, Futaba Minato and ASTERIAN!! ASTERIAN is a masculine Synthesizer V bass vocal, and Futaba Minato is a feminine CeVio vocal. She has a voice that stands out from all of the other CeVio vocals, and I love her! She's def one of my faves now. ASTERIAN is really interesting, and I'm loving the fact that we finally got some diversity on synthV. His mascot is very pretty and I LOVE his voice.

On Decemer 12th, Xuan Yu and Cong Zheng were released! They're apart of Synthesizer V's default vocals, and they don't have mascots, rather an avatar of two, duo-colored letters. Cong Zheng's voice is amazing but Xuan Yu sounds REALLY similar to Brendon Urie when singing in english via crosslang, for some reason. Though I like him for that reason since it means I don't have to listen to the actual Brendon Urie and can just listen to a voice synth that sounds like him.

On December 19th, Kirune and AiSuu were released!! Kirune is voiced by v-kei singer Kiryuin Sho of Golden Bomber, and AiSuu is voiced by Suu of Silent Siren. Both voicebanks were released for CeVio's sister project, VoiSona. AiSuu is adorable but I didn't connect much to Kirune.

On December 21st, POPY and ROSE were released! POPY and ROSE are known for being pre-existing BanG Dream! characters voiced by their respective voice actors (POPY VA: Terakawa Aimi, ROSE VA: Aiba Aina), but I already forgot what the characters are. Whoops. They were released on CeVio, and from what I noticed, ROSE is liked more than POPY, and I have to agree there. POPY is the average cheerful vocal, but ROSE is a deeper vocal with a gorgeous gothic mascot. Though I still like POPY and think that her and her design are really cute, I just prefer ROSE.

On December 28th, there were released 4 VOICEVOX voicebanks. Yeah that's a lot but from what I noticed they do drop in batches. The voicebanks are derived from people's custom mascots rather than companies, but I'm still gonna list them. The voicebanks that got text-to-speech voicebanks are: Shiki Taigen (an eastern dragon furloid), Ooka Miko (a puppy kemonomimi vipperloid), SAYO (someone's original character), Nurse Robot_Type T (a really cool UTAU that I love).

But, most importantly, on December 31st, was released an UTAU version of another DECtalk vocal besides for Perfect Paul; Kit the Kid. Most DECtalk voices are yet to be ported, so seeing another one of the 9 voices of DECtalk be ported is really fun to see. Yes, even if the original voice is a speech voicebank, but the port is a singing voicebank. I personally love retro synths, so seeing them be ported onto newer engines to be used again always makes me happy ::) now all I'm waiting for is for any of the PLG100-SG voices to be ported (preferably F-Boyish since I like that voice the most but any would be nice). Though I doubt it's even possible- but if it is I'd love to see any voice ported. If not, it simply being used again would be cool as well since it's last usage was in 2011. On harmonies for a song. Not even as the main vocalist. And last used song as main vocalist was in 2008.

Can't wait to see what voice synths get released in January! But there certainly were a lot of voice synths released this month, which I'm happy about all of them. But at the same time I want to see what voices get released next, and I'm especially excited for COKO from the Musical Isotope series, since she's so far the one I liked the most out of the 5, design-wise and voice-wise.
