my brother was named after my grandfather

a name that had been passed on for generations

my name was chosen out of a hat

randomly assigned

my brothers name means free man

a title he wears well and with pride

my name means olive branch

a resignation to peace

before i could even speak

proof that i am capable of writing poems in non paragraph form. i hate rhyming tho. i just dont think i can express myself lie that like if a word fits what im trying to say im gonna use it rhyme or not. the title was taken from the song "and they're off" from william finn's 'a new brain', not entirely related to the subject matter but i love the song so much. vry sorry 4 ranting lol as always feel free to ask questionsssss!
