I have a creative writing class this year, we've been learning about different poetry structures, short stories, and flash fiction. I enjoyed poetry a bit, i learned my favorite type of poetry is a pantoum. I enjoyed fiction a lot more though. Writing in the pov of my characters really helps me figure out how i want them to be and helps me improve their design. I originally created a character that mirrored me. I gave them most traits that I had like hair, personality, behavior, thought process. I also gave him some stuff I don't have like a traumatic backstory, siblings, a huge group of friends (i still have to design). The backstory inspired me to write a story. I'm terrible with dialogue but I know I can write a decent story. Another good thing about this class is the people, they're very nice and give really good feedback on the stuff you write. I'm excited for fiction structure lessons or anything fiction. As long as the lesson helps me improve and test out my story im happy to learn.

putting a little bit of yourself in your characters is both good for your health AND inevitable !! every writer puts a little bit of themselves in a character, especially in writing, certain things just stay, and I think that's what makes it distinct, I wish you good luck w ur stuff!!!! hope u have lots of fun making your stories :]
