HI ALL!
first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
sorry i missed a week with this blog, it was just with the holiday i got REALLY busy and so i completely forgot to update! i need to pick a specific day to update too, like today is sunday, last time i updated it was a tuesday, and the first time was a monday. bleh. i'll figure it out, right now i'm just updating whenever is convenient.
so after my mom's birthday, i didn't really do much. there was a HUGE snow snap in my town and so ice and snow were on the roads, so i didn't really go out. i did, however, get to go see a light show in the capital of my state!!!! we don't live too far from there, so it wasn't a big deal. it was so so so pretty, it took us about 30 minutes to get through the whole thing!! i loved it a lot, as did my sisters. my brother didn't go. he never really goes to anything. they had it set up where if you tuned into a radio station, you could listen to music that synced with the lights. i really adored getting to see that!! i love light shows. i think that more often than not i have hyposensitivity to things like light and sound so getting to see a bunch of flashing lights really made my day!
then of course i had christmas eve and christmas, which was nice!! christmas eve i got to decorate cookies with my sister, and i made 2 cookies that looked like 2 of my favorite characters-- stede bonnet from our flag means death and xie lian from heaven official's blessing. but i had to make xie lian out of a tree cookie, because we were out of people shaped ones.
i ended up doing christmas with my cousins on the 26th, not the 17th like i thought i would. it was alright. there were 15 people there which was a LOT. but my little sister came with me and we hung out a lot, we drew and talked and played vr. i didn't get to see a lot of my cousins cause they had their girlfriends over too, and i didn't get to see a lot of the adults cause yknow, they were all talking to each other. but i did get $120, so that was cool as shit.
then this week has been pretty chill too. the week between christmas and new years is soooooo weirddddddd like i feel so off, we've been living off leftovers and christmas candy, and more than anything, i fell into a depressive episode in the middle of it. i'm still kinda feeling the effects, but i'm trying to focus on the positive. i won't really go into the episode here cause it's not necessary, just know some stuff is going on, and it's very difficult for me to deal with.
on wednesday the 28th i got to hang out with my best friend!! that was really fun, we just did the usual thing of going to the library and getting boba tea. god i swear i'm addicted to boba tea. i love it so much. we also got fancy sandwiches. yayyY! we also went to a record store, per my request. oH YEAH THAT'S SOMETHING!! they got me one of my FAVORITE ALBUMS EVER on vinyl!! it was my christmas gift!! twin fantasy, by car seat headrest. i've listened to it a few times already, it's a very welcome part of my collection. i bought myself a record too, historian by lucy dacus. i almost bought an import of unreleased lana del rey songs but it was FIFTY DOLLARS and also i learned from my dad afterwards to never. trust. imports.
on the 29th i did a lot. first of all, my dad had rented a tesla, and asked if i wanted to run errands with him in it so i could see all the cool features. which of course i said yes! we did have to sit at a charging station in a fresh thyme parking lot for an hour though. but he let me play music and also got me starbucks so YIPPEEEEEE. teslas do this thing where you basically turn your car into a boombox and it will play music outside of the car, so we did that while waiting in the parking lot, because we're both insufferable.
next, i went to a party hosted by my friend gray!! she had tacos for us to eat, and lots and lots of treats. we exchanged some presents and then we played mario kart and a super super super chaotic game of monopoly where the goal wasn't really to win, it was to steal money from other people, give out charity handouts, or, in my friend lilly's case, collect literally every $1 in the game. which she did. flawless execution.
then, i came home and played trivia games with my dad!! i beat him every time but only because i could answer the questions really really fast. and he rewatched my favorite episode of what we do in the shadows with me!! if you're wondering, it's the casino. that episode is AMAZING.
the 30th, my dad took us to the mall, and i bought some incense for my altar and a rose quartz crystal, and boba tea, and also some little icing decoration candies which were REALLY GOOD.
then yesterday, new years eve!! i went to see the new puss in boots movie with my best friend lance, which was REALLY GOOD, by the way. the animation was FANTASTIC and so stylized i really enjoyed it. also harvey guillen and samson kayo and florence pugh and john mulaney are in it so of course i freaked out when i first heard their voices, lmao. and then lance came over and spent the night with me!! we mostly just played ace attorney, cause we've been playing a LOT of ace attorney. fucking LOVE THAT GAME IT'S SO GREAT!!! i love it so much it's so fun. we're almost done with the first game, my favorite trial so far has definitely been chapter four. i really can't wait to play more and meet more of the characters!! particularly the prosecutors, because they all have neat aesthetics.
and then that brings me to today!! my dad is gonna watch bullet train with me tonight but other than that, i have no plans. i want to make more kandi today! i've been making a lot of kandi recently, i made a mini-rotator based off wwdits, an epic cuff with little candy charms, a gir-themed mini cuff, and a 2 x high cuff with tribeads in the x's, which looked really cool!!!!
i'm also hungry, so i think i'll go have lunch. ooo and i need a shower. and to do laundry cause i'm out of pants.
