generation 7 was a fairly average generation . i actually quite like mimikyu . it was kinda like a breath of fresh air to have a pokemon with a darker tone to it . also, primarina is a fucking cool looking pokemon . the quarrel i have with this generation is the alolans. like ,,,,,,, why??????? the older generations didnt need a revamp or anything. was satoshi finally running out of ideas?? like what was going thru their heads .... alolan diglett is an atrocity .,,,, just. why??? i cant even see a reason for it from a buisiness point of view . pokemon wasnt even close to dying out??????? they had no need to "stir up excitement" or anything .. if anyone could tell me a reason thats coherent i would be very impressed

i think the regional forms are really cool actually! its important to not forget about the older pokemon in favor of newer ones because you never know if its someones favorite
i feel like they couldve gone about bringing in/recognizing 1st gen pokemon in a better way than to give them subpar redesigns .... just my opinion , i get how someone would like them . most redesigns kinda give me an ick though (like raticate , persian and geodude .... its plain bad designing ). i will say , sandshrew/slash and ninetales are super cool.

i think the gen 1 favoritism is bad, obviously, but regional forms are cool besides that! at least in concept
