My Favourite Concert Moments/Things I've Gotten
♡ Burn It Down Festival - At the 2022 one, I was front row for WARGASM (UK) and at the end of their show, Sam Matlock (the male vocalist) handed me one of the setlists!! Not only that, but he spoke to me!! (He said "Just f--ing reach!" jokingly cuz my arms were too short to reach the setlist so a security guard had to help me lmao.) I also saw Milkie Way (the female vocalist) at the merch stand, although some important-looking crew member took her backstage before I could talk to her :( Still cool seeing her tho!! I also met Mimi Barks at her merch stand :D She's much friendlier than I expected, she signed a poster for me too :) || 2023 - Met the singer of Lake Malice, and crowdsurfed her during the last song! (I was front row centre, exactly where she jumped onto the barrier). I also met the singers from Knife Bride who were super friendly! I also moshed for the first time in my life during Heart of a Coward's set!
♡ Delilah Bon - After the show, I was able to meet Lauren Tate, her bassist Ruena and DJ Goldenaxe!! I got pictures with them all and they signed a paper I got which had all the set times on it which was awesome!! I also met and got a signature from Storm St Claire (the first support act) :)
♡ Behemoth & Arch Enemy - During Behemoth's set, Adam 'Nergal' Darski (the vocalist) came to the far left of the stage where I was and he tried to throw a guitar pick to the balcony above, but missed and the pick landed on my arm!! I now own a guitar pick used by Nergal himself onstage!! Also not from the concert but, I won one of the prizes from a giveaway Arch Enemy did on twitter, which was a set of drumsticks USED by their drummer Daniel Erlandsson at one of their shows, and SIGNED by him!! The drumsticks arrived shortly after the show which is why I thought I'd add it here. :) Oh and I also was given Arch Enemy's setlist from a security guard!!
♡ Poppy - Caught one of Poppy's drummer's drumsticks at the end of the show!! A security guard also got me a piece of paper with the set times on it from backstage :)
♡ The Cure - After the show, one of the crew was clearing up the stage and he threw a guitar pick from the centre of the stage into the crowd (which I caught!!) and based on where it was thrown from, it could very well be one of the ones that Robert Smith used!! I'm not 100% sure tho, since the guitarist and bassist ran across the stage a couple times so it could be one of theirs, either way I don't mind, it's awesome to have something used by THE CURE!!
♡ The Damned - Bristol Show - I brought roses to give to Dave Vanian during New Rose, and not only did he actually take them, BUT HE BLEW ME A KISS ASWELL. AND THE SMILE ON HIS FACE WAS SO WHOLESOME. AND HE HELD THE ROSES FOR THE REST OF THE SONG, DIDN'T THROW THEM BACK OUT INTO THE CROWD OR ANYTHING, HE KEPT THEM AS HE WENT OFF STAGE. I LOVE DAVE SO MUCH. Oh and also I got a setlist thanks to a kind security guy and German crew member. :) || Album Signing - Rough Trade didn't give us much time with the band, they were really rushing the line, giving the band vinyls from the people behind us to sign, while we were trying to talk to them, but! Got the new album signed on CD and vinyl, and on top of that, I brought my white vinyl copy of Phantasmagoria and my setlist from the show a few weeks before, and despite the fact that a staff member told me "Only the new album." right in front of Dave, he snatched them out of my hand and signed them anyway! Dave is such a legend. I also find it funny how the Captain signed Phantasmagoria aswell, even tho he wasn't on the album - my dad thinks he did it out of spite cuz he was kicked out of the band! We also think Dave was quite happy to sign Phantasmagoria cuz it's "his baby" [my dad's words not mine], and it looks like he put more time and effort into his signature on that one! And boy did it pay off, it's absolutely beautiful, will definitely cherish this. I can't believe I have a signed, white vinyl copy of my favourite album of all time. :') I can't wait to get all of this framed and on my wall.
♡ Dead Kennedys - Oh boy a lot of good stuff happened at this show. The vocalist looked at me LOADS and during Too Drunk To Fuck, he jumped off the stage onto the barrier AND PUT THE MICROPHONE RIGHT IN MY FACE DJFHSF. At the end of the show he came up and thanked everyone in the front row and I got a fist bump from him and hugged him. I also got part of the last setlist, which he used to wipe the sweat off of his forehead and then ripped up and threw. I also was able to meet their guitarist East Bay Ray - I got a picture with him and he gave me a guitar pick! Also when I was getting my picture taken with him, he commented on my Cure phone case which was kinda funny. Still in shock from all those times the vocalist made eye contact with me and dkfhjs.. everything. That was one of the most chaotic and exciting and bloody amazing shows I've been to. Never felt so alive.
♡ Slam Dunk North - Travelled 6-7 hours for this, and got to finally meet my online best friend of the past 3 years there!! Even though the festival was 1 day, that was the best weekend of my life.
♡ From The Jam - Bideford - Saw them at The Big Sheep which is basically a family theme park with farm animals and stuff. The band were rehearsing IN THE CAFE while everyone (besides us) was waiting by the stage, and my friend who's in a local band asked them if we could get photos with us, so we got to meet not only Bruce Foxton, but Russell and the drummer of Big Country too!!
♡ U.K Subs - A friendly crew member gave me a poster and said something along the lines of "grab one before they're gone", but he realised that we didn't have anywhere to put it, so he said he'd take it backstage to keep it safe for us, and at the end of the show he gave it back to us, AND IT WAS SIGNED!
♡ Myrkur - THE BLACK METAL QUEEN HERSELF SAID I LOOK COOL!!
♡ WARGASM (UK) - Finally getting to meet Sam and Milkie was the coolest experience ever. Since it was a party instead of a formal signing, there wasn't a queue or anything it was just chilling with the band. I PLAYED GUITAR HERO WITH SAM MATLOCK AND THEY KEEP POSTING THE PHOTOS OF ME AND HIM ON INSTAGRAM WOOO
♡ Tomorrow's Ghosts Festival & "The Art Of Darkness" - The March Violets in Conversation with John Robb - After the interview I had a chat with Rosie from The March Violets and found out that she grew up in a town 15 mins away from where I live!! And after their set, I got to meet the whole band and they all signed my setlist for me :)
♡ The Sisters of Mercy - Got a setlist from the (synth player?? drum machine guy?? dunno tbh he was kinda just stood behind a bunch of equipment the whole time) and caught a guitar pick from the female guitarist!! I have no clue who she is cuz she's not an original member but she was so badass!!
Final Notes
