Nintendo switch online rant

This is just something that's been bothering me lately but the fact that you cant do anything online but like battle royale games without paying for a subscription is ridiculous. I already bought the console and the game itself was 80$ why should I have to pay more monthly just to fully pay. 

Idk I got a free week with the just dance game my mom got me for Christmas but its still annoying. I wish I could still just trade in Pokémon without paying extra. Anyways if anyone has Pokémon violet and wants to trade the regional exclusives with me to help fill my pokedex lmk ^^
