december 27th- i went to riot fest, it's been a while!

listening to root by grumpster as i write this. 

i went to riot fest this year in september!! i travelled to chicago all the way from southwestern pennsylvania for it.i saw some of my favorite bands of all time while there.

day one, i saw ls dunes's first ever show!! it was amazing. they are all phenomenal musicians. also, i heart tucker rule, so i was very excited. then i travelled over to where destroy boys was gonna be playing in a few hours. wargasm was soundcheking when i got there. i hadn't heard of them before, but now i was moshing my ass of for their whole set. they were amazing and the pit was awesome too. i saw bob vylan on that stage later and also another band, but i can;t remember their name unfortunately. 

destroy boys came on and they were amazing as always. this was my second time seeing them, and they were even better than the first. they're my favorite band and have been since the day i first saw them live in april 2019. i <3 destroy boys.

went over to the big stage after and taking back sunday had just started their set. adam lazzara, you are GORGEOUS in person. 

then mcr. terrible pit, but amazing show. gerard looked gorgeous. that made it the third time i have seen frank iero perform. bro was gorgeous. i broke down in tears during the kids from yesterday because that song actually means so much to me, it's insane. also gerard's outfit??? amazing. gorgeous. perfect. 

day two i saw the original misifts!!! phenomenal. walked towards the stage yellowcard was at near the end of their set to hear ocean avenue live. fucking awesome. 

day three was probably my favorite day. i got there around two thirty and immediately went to the stage midtown and the academy is... were going to be playing at later that night. less than jake was on when i got there and that pit was sooo much fun. then PVRIS, who was absolutely amazing. i loved the girl's voice. 

midtown!!! i saw midtown!!!! gabe saporta is the love of my life. i fucking LOVE midtown and they put on such a good show. 

i got to see the main again after midtown!! the first time i saw the maine was at sad summer fest in pittsburgh in 2021, and they were just as good this time!! so much fun.

and then, lastly, the academy is...

william beckett, you are the love of my whole life. 

this show was geniunely the best show i've ever been to, the best crowd i've ever been in, and one of the best performances i've ever seen. after the last midtown show had me crying in the pit to be honest. such a good concert, and such a good way to end the weekend that was riot fest.
