I am currently volunteering as a counselor at a week long camp for mentally and/or physically disabled kids, ages 5 to 22. I have to be there from 8:30am to at least 3:00 pm

Today was the second day of camp. Day one was okay.

This morning during first activity a camper needed to go to the bathroom so myself and another counselor took her to the bathroom.

While there she hit both myself and the other counselor.

Right after this my only pair of not broken glasses broke.

Later during lunch a camper aggressively pulling on my sweater I was wearing and wouldn’t let go.

At the very end of day waiting for campers to get picked up, a camper threw their shoe at me as hard as they could and hit me in the head.

Directly after camp I went straight to work and that is now where I am with a taped broken pair of glasses and a sore shoulder and head.

What a great day!

I shouldn’t be the one to deal with the violent stuff, there are people specifically for that, but somehow I was the one at the other end.
