Snow-in-summer
As I step outside
And feel the summer breeze,
There you are.
A brazen snowtop,
In the middle of a heat wave.
The ground is dusted in your glaring white.
You bring a smile to my face.
It is such a delight to see you again.
You present an icey exterior,
But I reach out to touch you,
The sunlight warms my fingertips.
Your silky smooth petals brighten the day.
Once again as I continue to walk,
Your presence brings life to my path.
The edges of sidewalks all dress in white.
A winter wonderland in July.
You make me wish for Christmas to come sooner.
Though I know, once it does,
Your ground’s occupancy will be over
