Any tips for thrifting?

hey guyss, so I've always been a big fan of thrifting since highschool BUT lately i've seen tiktoks of girls that dress emo/goth/y2k. Now my question is any of your guys have tips on finding clothing like this? any specific stores you go to or any thing you specifically look for while shopping?
