SONGS OF DECEMBER 2022 + NEW YEAR THOUGHTS

IT'S BEEN A MINUTE since i've done this form of blog entry (nine months, no?), so it's time to do a end-of-the-year recap! i'm so excited to end this year, so here's my favorite songs of this month.

1. KRAFTWERK - COMPUTER LOVE (German electronic): WHEW! one of my favorite bands ever, honestly. and i've undoubtedly had a few other of their songs in these lists over the last year. but COMPUTER LOVE is easily my favorite from them at the moment. if you've ever enjoyed DEPECHE MODE, they sound similar - give them a go! you can listen here!

2. BLKSMIITH - SR20DET (dance/electronic/hyperpop): another song that's been itching the deepest recesses of my brain. i've really been letting myself explore two genres the last three or so months - GOTH and ELECTRONIC. this song is just very interesting and i'd give it a listen if you are a hyperpop enjoyer. listen here!

3. BAUHAUS - SHE'S IN PARTIES (gothic rock): time to get into my aforementioned genre, GOTH ROCK. i have always been into goth culture and music, but i never explored the ROCK side of the genre. goth music tends to swing two ways - GOTH ROCK or DARKWAVE. i've always been an electronic enjoyer, so DARKWAVE has tended to be my favorite - but now i've started in on BAUHAUS.....and wow. i feel like i've been missing out! if you wanna explore good GOTH MUSIC, go here!

4. BUCK TICK - DRESS (visual kei): BASIC, I KNOW! but this song is beautiful, and one of my first (and favorite) VISUAL KEI song to date (next to a couple DADAROMA songs). DRESS is wonderfully put together and i 100% recommend listening to this song if you have yet to explore the VISUAL KEI music genre. listen here! 

5. BAUHAUS - BELA LUGOSI'S DEAD (gothic rock): ANOTHER BASIC ONE, I'M AWARE! but if something is the "basic", it's probably good. like, why else would you listen to a song first? because everyone in the GOTH scene knows this song in particular. it's easily been on my repeat list for the last few months. listen here!

6. THE SMITHS - THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT (pop rock): easily one of my favorite SMITH songs! it's just a very listenable song that people who don't like the SMITHS that much can enjoy. they are also another band i have been listening to a lot recently. listen here!

7. SEWERSLVT - BLISSFUL OVERDOSE (electronic/hyperpop): to end this year off, here's one of my favorite musical artists AND one of my favorite songs this year that i've been jamming to. SEWERSLVT sticks in my brain as an artist who creates music for people with loud minds, and that's what this song feels like. if you wanna listen, go here!

OMG, the list is done! i've never been more excited to end the year. i'm ending it off on a good note, with good music, and good people.
