#2 - weekly van update

hi all!! welcome back to my weekly updates!! im your host, van, and here's what's happened since last monday!!

so it was my last week before break, im on break now, YIPPEE!! i had 2 finals, in algebra and personal finance, both of which i passed thankfully. i also got my final english project turned in, and i'm confident i'll get a good grade!!

on tuesday of last week was my last fencing class of this session. never fear, i'll be fencing again in early january!! but we did bouts, which are competitions, we just did shortened versions for time reasons. usually bouts are either to 5 points or to 15 points, but we just did to 3 points. and there are 4 of us in my class, myself included. i fenced against the same person twice and I WON BOTH TIMES!!! granted they are younger and more timid than me but we're both total beginners so i'm really proud of myself!!! in the second bout, my instructor said that she would time to see how long it was between the beginning and the first hit, and i got a hit in 5 seconds. which is. super fast. so i'm really happy and now that i've had a taste of bouts i'm kind of addicted to the idea with hitting people with swords like all of the time >:3 so i'm really excited for next session!!

i wrapped everyone's christmas gifts too, and delivered them on friday. all except my mom and dad's which i'll deliver on christmas day! i also made cards with fun little doodles and heartfelt messages lol. everyone seemed to really really love their gifts so im so happy that it all went over well!!! :D i love giving gifts to people, it makes me really really happy to know that i can make someone else happy with stufffff hehehe

the last day of school before break was SUPER fun, my school does these things on the last days of the semesters where we'll basically have a day full of fun free period choice stuff. i went to one where we watched wallace and gromit shorts and honestly i didnt know how iconic those were but they're so fun and cool hehe. i also got churros and fancy hot cocoa from my spanish teacher which were SO GOOD. and there were table marshmallows. marshmallows that my friend opened and they went everywhere and then some of them landed on the table. it was pretty fun! all in all a really good day

this week i spent a lot of time watching what we do in the shadows, and i finished the series yesterday. DUDE IT'S SO GOOD!! if you haven't seen it, i highly recommend it. but this won't become a full on infodump. it's just really funny, well made, and i absolutely adore all of the characters. i specifically love laszlo's character arc, it was completely unexpected but it was great!! i also think the main 3 vampires are autistic, so, make of that what you will. i love autistic headcanons, if i love a character it's usually cause they're major-league autistic coded hehe.

i also rewatched yuri on ice which hoo boy. i cried over that shit despite knowing exactly what was gonna happen and everything and yet when they kissed i cried. i cried at the ending too. like a little BITCH and in front of my sister smh smh. it's just cause i forgot how much of a formative experience yuri on ice was for me growing up lmao i wrote a whole blog post about it right after we finished our full rewatch.

so it's safe to say that now i have 3 hyperfixations going on, which is, a LOT. like a fuck ton. like overwhelming a little. anyone need a spare hyperfixation???? you can take either what we do in the shadows or yuri on ice because there is so little fan content. i'm keeping our flag means death though.

anyways, that's my week!!! my mom's birthday is today and we get to give her her cake soon. i've also started questioning using new names.................... i have so many piled up i need to just not change my name but at the same time................... and i think i wanna start a radio show
