concert recap of 2022

now that i have gone to my last concert of the year i wanna do a recap and rating of them bc why not !!

1) idkhow 10/10

they are my favourite band literally ever, first time i saw them and it was absolutely amazing. id do anything for them. didn't get an opener bc they got kicked off the tour on our show so they played a double set for us which was super cool. it was my first general admission concert and i talked to a group of people before the show about waterparks and mcr

2) ghost 10/10

holy. oh my. they put on an amazing show. saw them the day after idkhow. it was absolutely incredible. openers were absolutely amazing, not a big fan of volbeat but twin temple is absolutely insane. i wasn't super into ghost at the time so i only knew a handful of songs but i am so incredibly thankful we saw them. i wish i dressed up more

3) slipknot 9/10

oooohhhhhhh my god. they put on such a show. i only really payed attention to tortilla man the whole night but i remember seeing corey running around in circles a lot. reeked of weed but that's to be expected. cypress hill and ho99o9 opened. we got to our seats when ho99o9 was on so i don't remember them but cypress hill was pretty cool. only knew like two songs. id love to see them again

4) crawlers 9/10

absolutely incredible !!!! smallest show ive been to but everyone was so incredibly nice. held hollys hand and got to give them the gummy worms i got them and holly talked about it on stage for a second. met the opener and fell in love with their music. maddes incredible pls go support them

5) ben platt 7/10

i went with a friend and we got dinner before. aly + aj opened and i used to be into them so it was cool seeing them. ben was great, hadn't listened to him too much before the concert but it was very gay and very fun. not my style of music though

6) joywave/idkhow again!!!! 1000000000000/10

literally the best day of my entire life. oh my god. opener was great didn't know any of her stuff but she had an amazing voice. joywave was super fun and made a couple friends during their set. idkhow was absolutely incredible (as always). ryan said 'i love you' back at me. genuinely one of the best experiences of my life during a concert. after was even better though. my dad and i waited out by their tour busses and we got to meet them. ryan gives the best hugs literally ever. i got to tell him about how he's helped me through a lot and how he helps me stay motivated and happy and i gave him a bracelet i made. dallon is so incredibly nice and people are not kidding when they say he is tall. im about 5'10 and he was towering over me. made him laugh !!!!!!!! also met anthony and he wished me happy birthday. met daniel from joywave and he gave me a fist bump and told me to do my homework (which was to look up this one band him and my dad were talking about). id do anything to relive this night it was absolutely incredible and i miss ryan

7) iron maiden 9/10

put on an incredible show, went for my dad's birthday,.the one downside was we had seats where it was kinda hard to see them but that was the only bad thing. i had the best nachos and got a bunch of compliments on my makeup. would see them again in a heartbeat. trivium opened and they sound So good live

8) my chemical romance 10000/10

holy balls. i cannot express how much this concert meant to me. they were what got me into alternative music and they genuinely saved my life. frank came out and played with kimya dawson during her set and i literally bawled my eyes out it was so sweet. taking back sunday was great but im not into them and didn't know any of their set but id see them again. i cannot put into words how amazing mcr was. they played almost all of my favourite songs and screaming mama is the most therapeutic experience of my whole life

9) palaye royale 4/10

worst concert experience ever. the crowd was rude, this one dude was being kinda pervy to me and i almost had a panic attack. openers were alright. palaye was okay, remington screamed a lot but it was not a suotible venue for that so it was hard to understand anything. it was my first time moshing though which was fun. remington and i made eye contact for a few seconds which made the night better but overall terrible experience. i waited like two years to see them and i was pretty disappointed, it was only really the crowd that ruined it for me

10) twin temple again 10/10

they are an absolute favourite to see live for me. they sound almost identical live to their studio work and my dad and i got splashed with fake blood. opener was INCREDIBLE. talked to a couple dudes in the croud about mcr

11) trinity of terror 10000/10

oh my god. perfect way to end the year. made friends in line and moshed with one of them during atreyus set and that was fun but i was severely dehydrated so that burnt me out pretty quickly. motionless went first and they were incredible. i wish they played reincarnate bc that's kinda the song that got me into them but they did play slaughterhouse and dead as fuck so it made up for it (/lh). caught a tootsie roll during their set (i think it was at the end of dead as fuck). i need to see them again if they come back to my state. bvb is a fav of all bands ever. andy is so hot. andy pointed at me and sang to me during faithless which was surreal. we pointed at each other a lot and oh my god !!!!!!!! the energy of everyone singing fallen angels together is unforgettable. ink went last and by the time they came on i was exhausted and almost passed out. hip to be scared live is an otherworldly experience. everyone screamed 'hey paul!' together and it was So cool. this one couple did make out in front of me during inks set which was super uncomfortable. i did end up getting a balloon during merry axemas though !!!!!

as you can see i have a concert addiction.
