My stance on DNI lists

First posted blog on this account. Woohoo. But before I start, Don't take this to heart, I don't care if you like them or use one, yadda yadda do what you want. 

Now, I really don't understand the big stink about DNI lists. I understand not wanting literal Nazis following you, but do you really think "14_aryanchan_88" is going to look at your DNI list and respect it, hah. That's very.. hopeful to think they'd give a shit about boundaries.  And beyond the obvious of not wanting fascists near you, there's always the things like "TCC, *insert game no-one over the age of 14 knows* fans, etc". Some of my friends like things I'm not too fond of, and I also draw the line at a certain point, but I think it's silly to safeguard yourself from something small like FNF fans, hah.

 Similar thing with people who make a stink about people not using trigger warnings for small things, I understand things like flashing lights, gore, etc but the internet isn't a safe space. The internets always been full of wildly different people, who like different things and draw the line at different places. I really don't care to see light blood or pictures of Smile Dog or some shit, but someone else does care maybe, and that's fine. You can curate your browsing spaces to fit your likes and needs, but to get angry at people who don't want to put a warning for tiny things is really just stupid. The internet isn't a daycare to protect you. 

But back exclusively to the topic, policing who interacts with you on a *public* place is really just stupid. If you want to limit who talks to you, private your account, don't interact with people outside of your/your friends spaces, etc. Plus, often times when you publicly say you don't want xyz group interacting with you, they often just interact to fuck with you. That happens like, all the time. In all, I find policing public spaces like that is just redundant, Thanks for reading. See yaah.
