Fall Out Boy - Evening Out With Your Girlfriend (2003)
A charming early release of Fall Out Boy, reminiscent of albums such as Dookie and Enema Of The State. As a fan of Fall Out Boy, this album remains a smooth listening experience, with songs tending not to drag out, however, the vocals can be simplistic, and the low budget is evident in the production quality of the album. Highlights include 'Calm Before the Storm' (although the rendition on Take This To Your Grave is MUCH better) and 'Growing Up'. Relatively this album is pretty short and can vary in quality of lyrics, with an evident high of 'Calm Before the Storm' and a lowwwww of 'Short, Fast, And Loud' which can drag out in its repetition. It achieves its purpose of being a short, simple compilation of raw pop-punk songs, nevertheless, it fails to produce its own identity, and falls behind other EPs such as 'My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tounge'.
Overall, I give this album a 5/10.
