ive already posted this on some of my socials a while ago but not here so.... here it is! i bought a pc case for a sleeper build i want to work on!
i bought this case off of offerup for $20 after browsing through many, many listings on multiple websites, which... im genuinely appalled at the amount of people who simply put up listings for items and then never look at their dms because i dm'd several sellers only to never get a response back. though, a good handful of these listings were put up years ago, which probably means they forgot about it completely because no one offered to buy them within a few weeks. still a little irritating, but i digress
as you can tell there is some damage on this case, but nothing too overtly bad. missing a leg and has a dent on the side panel, which i plan on fixing before i paint:
heres the seller image of the inside:
i plan on painting the black metal parts of the case pink, while leaving the front silver panel untouched. once im done painting im gonna decorate it with cute stickers! i got lots of hello kitty stickers i have hoarded just for this build >:3c
before i wanted to do a sleeper build i was actually going for a white/pink color scheme, but since ive been getting back into 2000s nostalgia ive decided on settling for a pink/silver chrome theme, which i actually have not seen quite yet (im sure it exists out there). its perfect because although companies have been releasing more white color variants of their products, it is still a pain in the ass to get every single component white and/or pink, so going silver makes it just a little easier for certain parts. plus, i think it adds to the 2000s aesthetic as a lot of computer parts and other tech were silver back then. ill still have some white parts here n there, but itll mostly be silver.
for reference, heres some setups i am taking inspiration from:
i also pulled this monitor out of my shed. my sister had used this monitor back in the 2000s and the silver just [chefs kiss] matches perfectly. unfortunately the picture quality is nothing to write home about; its full HD BUT the color quality on it is not that great. the 16:10 aspect ratio is also uncommon so if i watch 1080p videos on this it wont fit the screen fully. if i do actually use it, it definitely wont be the main monitor. you win some, you lose some...
ill post more entries as i continue working on the build, as well as my (future) pc specs if anyone is curious!
