So to start let me explain what the vampire database is and why I made it. The vampire database is exactly what the name suggests, it’s a database of a bunch of different vampire depictions in media. Whether it be books, movies, tv shows, etc. I’m going to try and cover as much as a possibly can. Now most obviously I can’t get to every vampire iteration, I can’t even get to the majority, but I will try my best to get at least a good spectrum of media from all over the world. The reason I made this database more or less changed over time. The idea came to me as I was reading The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod and I wondered what the best depiction (based on powers) was. And then I realized just how much variety there is in the powers/appearances/etc. of vampires. So I decided to find out of there was some kind of pattern to it. I, of course, have a lot of hypotheses and theories but I really want to see them come to life. 

How I set up the database goes as follows: 

Title of media (Author/Director/Producer of any sorts)

Type of media, date(s) published, country of pop culture, Genre, target demographic, Villain, Protagonist/love interest, side species.

• Differences/similarities from the “original” Vampyre:  

• Death(if possible)/weaknesses/lifespan:

• Extra details/”add-ons”:

• Lore/How vampyre society works (i.e. monarchy, are they known about by humans, do they have an essential part in society, can humans be “converted”, etc.):

  
  

  Then I can compare and contrast all the vampire media I consume!!
