since i have no idea what to blog about on here i'm gonna start making song recs/reviews. I'd say I have a somewhat diverse taste in music, so maybe this'll be broadening if you don't. So without further ado...
This month's crying song: Baraye by Shervin
This is a protest/political song that's popular in Iran and its diaspora right now. The artist was in fact jailed shortly after its release. Maybe it's because it hits so close to home, maybe it's because the lyrics pull at my heartstrings, but i can't help but cry every time I hear it. The original song is in Farsi, which is the version i prefer, but there are English translated covers, though they don't really convey the message as well as the original.
This month's 'anime opening in your head' song: Heart of a Dancer by The Happy Fits
I don't really have any particular emotional entanglement to the song. It's funky. I can picture my OCs duking it out with this playing in the background. I first listened to it at a random social media user's general recommendation. Listen to it. Now.
This month's song to play while you're chilling: 1-800-SINS by R.I.P.
This is actually a soundtrack from an animation by vewn on youtube, which is very much not a chill video. Still, i would recommend watching it, though be warned it deals with lots of heavy subject matter. Like a lot. But even if you don't watch the animation (and if you're easily distressed I'd advise against it even) this is a chill but not-sleep-inducing track to put on loop in the background while you're doing something like reading, enjoying a drink, or drawing something.
