16-year-old in 2003 written by someone born in 2005. Help.

Okay so the title says it. I was born in 2005, and I'm writing a story about a 16-year-old emo girl set in 2003.

I'm asking the people who were around that age during that time, how was life? How does it compare to life of modern teenagers?
