This past Saturday, I played a real live gig. In front of real live people. It wasn't with my band (that won't be for a while) but rather with the cover band Naked Glory. They asked me to fill in for this Oct 30 gig and I obliged.
And no anxiety either!
After a few rehearsals, we played this show at Lakeside Tavern (Budd Lake, NJ) to about 60-70 people. But they were dancing and carrying on (alcohol does that), yet I felt very natural, no nervous vibes, just playing guitar and enjoying the moment. Played about 30 songs, ranging from Grateful Dead to Deep Purple, with brief detours into Jim Croce and J. Geils Band. Everything sounded really good, and the band played fine too!
They have another show lined up for December 11. And they asked me to fill in for that, and I said I would. Can't go into detail for now but it will be a show that's near and dear to my heart.
As for my music, I will be back in rehearsals with Mike (drums) and Brian (bass) on November 14th. Keeping busy is good as long as the music is flowing.
But a nap here and there is good too.
