Use of the term "Femboy" and other alternatives the community "decided."

Femboy

Definition;
Noun

       Informal
       a male whose appearance and behavioral traits are regarded as conventionally               feminine.

The term "femboy" is not inherently offensive. It all depends on context. If I were to call a cisgender male who is portraying as feminine a "femboy", it is not offensive. However if I were to call a transfem person a "femboy", that is offensive, and something you should NOT do.

Now, let's talk about the alternatives people have "decided" to use besides femboy.

Roseboy

Definition;
Noun

       Offensive

An offensive term for males that act like/look like females.

example;
Person 1; Shut up Roseboy!
person 2; :(

Fairyboy

Definition;
 Noun

       1. (Offensive) An insult meaning a boy who is overly feminine.
       2. (
Compliment) Someone who is very innocent. [Can be any gender]

Example(s);
1. "He's so feminine and goody-two-shoes what an annoying little fairy boy."
2. "He's so innocent and adorable, what a little fairy boy."

I'm not even sure who or what started the whole drama with this.

What people need to understand is that definitions for words change over time. A good example of a word changing it's definition is "boner".
Back then, "boner" used to mean "mistake"! You can find that word used in old DC comics! Now-a-days, "boner" is used to describe an erection, so yeah.

Another good example of a words definition changing, is "gay". It quite literally meant "happy". Now, it's a word to describe a homosexual male.

People tend to forget that as society grows and develops further, words and its meaning change, thus this stupid argument arose.

Anyway, this was just my take on the whole situation. Thank you for reading, and I hope you have a nice day/night whenever you're reading this. :)

I’ve seen A LOT of trans women use/reclaim this term for themselves, or they used to identify as it before coming out. Obviously, not all trans women, but still. The only people who think it’s a slur are people who aren’t even transfem in the first place and want to speak over transfem voices and gaslight them.

Isn't the "femboy" debate similar to the debate within the drag world about the term "ladyboi" or "boigirl" in general? I feel femboy is a varriant of "ladyboi" that was used specifically within Thailand ( and most of Asia tbh ) to describe a very feminine looking drag queen ( what the Western term "fishy" means ) although many Asian drag queens have said the term ( like queer ) is reclaimed..

It is very similar to that debate.
Though, I'm not too familiar with that argument.

I like to think that with both situations, it depends on context or how you use those words.

But yes. It is like that argument.
