why must straight men be the gayest of all

the other day one of my (straight, male) friends told me (male) and i quote 'i only care about you' and, a couple hours before that, was listing off reasons that im 'cool' (one of them being that i have a 'cool voice'). hes also told me that im the 'most unique person in our class', and that i 'look great'. also hes asked me if i like sitting next to him, asked me if i like men, and asked me if i think hes cool (and then proceeded to jokingly get mad at me because cool is the opposite of hot, and that means im saying hes not hot. BUT he's also told me he's straight and that he thinks men are gross. im so confused rn @_@
