Growing up, I was very familiar with the concept of death. My father died when I was 11-months-old, my abuelo died when I was six, and my grandfather died when I was 11, along with others. Now, I treat it with much more respect than my other friends and family members. In anatomy class, when my teacher is passing around bones, I refuse to touch them out of respect. I also clean my father’s grave every year in Mexico for father’s day with my tia and brother. Ironically, death is a part of my life, and I am okay with that.
I believe growing up with death was somewhat traumatizing, as I never learned to accept it until only recently. But I'm actually glad I did, or else I wouldn't have the ability to accept it and move on as easily. The Grim Reaper is almost like a close friend of mine in a way.
idk just jotting down stupid thoughts lol
