Today is a special Thursday, because I get to talk about my second and third favorite short anime: Wakaba Girl, and Chi’s Sweet Home: Chi’s New Address. Coming across short anime that are this good are very rare to come by.
Wakaba Girl feels like a generic CGDCT anime at first, but I felt it was so well-executed for what it is! The shorter episodes must have helped Wakaba Girl become a better anime to the point where it’s one of my Top 10 favorite CGDCT anime. Also, there are a lot of adorable moments, and the festival episode was my favorite festival episode. Its opening theme is really catchy! I especially loved the moe atmosphere, the fantastic art and animation, and the funny expressions!
Up next is Chi’s Sweet Home: Chi’s New Address. This was an anime that I had absolutely no plans on watching, but then when I wanted to get walking directions to home, I found this anime. I watched it, and I liked it! Little did I know that this anime will become my third favorite short anime! I don’t know how it ranked above anime such as The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya, that one Lucky Star spinoff no one talks about, Space Patrol Luluco, Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara, or even Encouragement of Climb, but this wholesome anime is one that I enjoyed a lot! It also may have to do with the number of episodes it has. If I had kids, Chi’s Sweet Home would be one of the first anime I’d let them watch.
In conclusion, I highly recommend you check out both anime. Wakaba Girl was definitely an anime for me, as I am a huge CGDCT fan. While Chi’s Sweet Home: Chi’s New Address feels like a kids’ anime, it is enjoyable for all ages. If you’re wondering what my favorite short anime is, it’s The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, which should surprise no one.
