cold and flu season tips and products.

I get chronic sinus infections and my sinuses are (usually) always blocked by something. here are my go-to's for anything nasal/cold/flu

products:

1) vapor inhaler. no not a vape, I mean a Vicks vapor inhaler, or the Walgreens brand because it's the same thing for half the price. these things are amazing, whether it's allergies, a sinus infection, or a cold, they always clear me up in no time. good thing to keep with you on the go. i have one 24/7

2) Theraflu. It's like tea that tastes like overly sweet lemon cough medicine. I can't say it's great, but it has acetaminophen (Tylenol) in it, so it helps reduce fever, and it always helps when I have a spare throat. I recommend putting it in green tea so it's a little more bearable taste-wise.

3) throat coat tea. more tea, but I promise if you get sore thoughts when your sick, you'll want some of this stuff. it's also useful if you are a vocalist, my bio-dad has been using it for years. it usually tastes a little better than Theraflu.

4) Vicks shower tablets. it does what Vapo-rub does but better, and also in the shower. alternatively, you can put Vapo-rub on your chest and avoid water hitting your chest.

5) honey. makes all of your medicine teas (and teas in general) taste much better, helps with sore throats too.

tips:

1) blow your nose instead of sniffling in all the snot. you're just making it harder for future you to get it out.

2) green tea and honey, always for everything. maybe even if you aren't sick. I just love green tea and honey.

3) Tylenol is a fever reducer, Advil is an anti-inflammatory, and alive is for headaches.

4) don't push yourself when you're sick. I know I do that but do as I say not as I do. it just makes you even sicker until you can't push through it anymore. it's awful but I still do it because I'm an ap high school student.
