This song, much like the other songs in the Birds album, has a very lighthearted melody. It has an interesting dreamy feeling to it during the chorus. It has a really funky guitar! And a lot of percussion. Especially during the chorus where cymbal crashes are very prominent. Overall it's a very pretty song^__^ The end gets a bit electronic. 

This songs lyrics could be taken both literally metaphorically. It talks about chasing something, seeking something out. Whether this is a character literally chasing a bird through various landscapes or if this Mourning Dove is symbolic of something(Life perhaps, or a greater purpose) this lyrics flow together really well. This is one of my top favorite Bryan Scary songs and you should absolutely check it out.
