twt are down????!!

i actually don't understand about what is happening? i saw some news and don't really understand the actual reason why twitter going to shut down soon. i used twitter since 2012 or 2011 i guess? and never once uninstalled or deleted this app. whenever i have a new phone i always downloaded it again or just used my browser back then. so... twt is a part of my life :\ are they really gonna shut the twt down or just a gimmick or a prank ???!!! tell me ur opinion about this whole situation pls
