The moon is rusting!

Hey guys! So this is pretty interesting info, the moon is actually rusting!

Pretty damn cool right?

let me explain how it happens and how it affects us!

So silly enough.. I actually cant tell you an exact reason on why,, but astronomers have a hypothesis!

to first understand ill explain what rust is and how it appears:

simply when iron is oxidized in the presence of water it leaves behind a reddish substance! (that's how mars received its iconic color)

To people that are doubting me by saying "the moon is white, so its not rusting!" well..its slowly turning red that's all i can tell ya!

So now let me explain how the rust got on the moon itself:

so to blow everyone's view on the moon, its actually not that empty.

The moon is about 10% covered in iron and its not devoid of water either! Liquid water isn't on the moon, but ice is! It appears in the cold parts of craters (shown in pic below). And the oxygen appears from our sweet earth!

so to put it simply: water molecules mix with iron on the Moon's surface, and when oxygen from the Earth is present, corrosion occurs to produce haematite (rust).
