I Hate Obligated Shit Especially If We're Not Friends

So at work they're doing this thing for Christmas where you choose a basket color and then you take that and buy stuff. Then later when you bring the basket back everyone ends up drawing a color and they get the basket of the color they choose. I think it's stupid. I am not friends with any of these people . Outside of work I don't associate with any of them. I don't hate them just we ain't friends. I'm not a people person never have been. I have my wife and my kids . And a few real life friends. I've never had that many friends. Don't really need a lot. And the people I do care about I'm not good with the emotions thing. I care about my wife and kids and have told em on numerous occasions. Just for me I don't make friends easily just cause it's not something I set out to do.

It's not something I set out to do. The few people who are my friends it's took awhile for us to be friends. And my wife it took me seven years before we got together to realize she had a thing for me. But anyways I don't see the people at work as my friends or even see anything I common with them. I associate with a few of them at work out of the idea it would be awkward for them if we didn't talk. Other than that I don't really see me associating with them outside of work. If it wasn't for work I don't think our paths would have ever crossed. So why should I be Obligated to buy things for total strangers? It's weird. And I'm not rich or middle class so I think it's bullshit I should have to participate in bs made up comadrie my boss thinks we all should have.

I'm sure they think it's going to create camaraderie or something like that. It's so forced though. Complete crazy bs

Yeah it probably is but doesn't make it less bs you know? I wish they didn't force us to participate in this kind of crap
