they have left us alone but remains of their presence sometimes grace the corners of our screens

as much as i love little niches like spacehey and neocities and whatnot, it always hurts me when i meet cool people on them that either vanish from the site entirely or seem to grow so distant from it that the only sense that they have yet to turn to dust is an occasional status update or online message. i think about those people so much, though i doubt they even remember me.

i wonder where they've all gone? sometimes, i miss them
