OK so I have no where else to talk about this but theres this moth that are so cute and silly and I just love the facts about them
☆ ok so their name is the rosy maple moth which are also called the "Dryocampa rubicunda" and their native to areas like Canada, Ohio, Texas, Florida and more! They usually live about 2 to 9 months in the wild and 2 to 5 months in captivity :(. They dont have mouths and don't eat when they are fully grown but as larvae (which the larvae name is "greenstriped mapleworm") they do eat maple leafs and are usually found in oak or maple trees!! They are very active durning night and are mostly nocturnal creatures! As larvae they can deliver a venomous bite but as said previously, when they are adults they lose their mouth and are harmless! These silly little moths are actually one of the smallest of silk moths regardless of the gender of the moth! and are usually at most 1.75 inches/ 4.4 centimeters. They have pink and yellow wings buttt the males have straighter and less round wings them females. And you may be asking why a moth, adapted to have such vibrant colors wouldn't they be easy targets? Well thats what I thought till I learned they hide around and mimic maple fruit, which are pink and yellow :D!! ty for coming to my goofy silly pink and yellow moth rant on these silly creatures :)))
