So I just finished watching Scream!! I'm not really a scary movie type of person but I figured it might be time to stop hiding behind the Dead Meat kill counts and actually watch something!! I figured this would be a good one to watch because it just didn't seem too intimidating. I wouldn't say this was my FIRST foray into the genre of spooky shit, but it is notable nonetheless as I literally never venture into these waters!
WHen I was a bit younger, there were a couple instances of my parents pressuring me into watching something I didn't want to. First there was my mom pressuring me into watching some iteration of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre which left me freaked out and eating a frozen Sara Lee French style cheesecake with her in the kitchen. I was scared of the fucking refrigerator because I though it sounded like a chainsaw. I stayed up as late as I could reading or doing anything else I could to distract myself because I couldn't get to sleep and I couldn't stop thinking about the movie and being sliced up with a chainsaw and shit. My sleep was probably fucked up for at least that week and for years afterward, the memory of the movie would suddenly pop into my head sometimes and I'd get a little spooked idk man
The other movie I was pressured into watching was Alien and it was by my dad. Funny story, but my dad once tried to convince me face-huggers were real (this was years before) and even showed me pictures and plushies. Anyway, somehow he got me to watch it. It didn't scare me all too much at first, but when it came time to shower, my brother and I were both too scared to shower alone so we hopped in together just like when we were a few years younger. And of course, our parents decided to play a silly little trick on us. My dad snuck around to the shower window and my mom turned off the bathroom lights (it was night time). Then my dad growled at the window to scare us. We both screamed and in some weird fear reflex, I bit my brother's hand. I still don't know why that happened. Anyway, that night I had a hard time getting to sleep because I couldn't shake the feeling that a fucking Xenomorph would crawl out of my dark closet (that doesn't have a door) and yeahhhh not fun
There was technically one more time I got pressured by my parents to watch a scary movie, but I actually enjoyed that one and it had no real lasting negative effects. It took quite a bit of convincing, but they got me to watch Cabin in the Woods and I must say, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Idk if being trapped in a car with a movie playing is considered being "pressured" into watching something but if it does, I guess there was another movie over a couple times. I've seen Silent Hill Revelations (stupid fucking poptart jumpscare) several times in the car while going on longer trips.

yeah so i totally forgot what i was saying uhhh it's 4am lol and my NEW PHONE ARRIVES TOMORROW IM SO EXCITED THIS IS THE FIRST PHONE I'VE EVER BOUGHT AAAAAAA AND IT HAD OVERNIGHT SHIPPING IM SO HAPPY AND LIKE??? DUDE ITS SO COOL AND WAY BETER THAN THE POIECE OF SHIT I'M CURRENTLY STUCK WITH
SO NANYWAY ALSO I'M GOING TO BE A SUPER COOL PLAGUE DOCTOR FOR HALLOWEEN BUT WITH A HOOD INSTEAD OF A HAT BC I DONT HAVE A HAT AND KSJDLHBJADSGHLJKSFGBSDFJGUSNFGXKL I MADE THE MASK MYSELF FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT A WHILE BACK AND I'LL BE WEARING MY TRENCH COAT (well one of my trench coats bc i actually have 2 of them but this one has a hood so ill be using this one) IM SO EXCITED
so i got way off track here but thats what happens at 4am i guess anyway yeah
