Alex Kralie starts off as a secondary protag, a film director for a college film called Marble Hornets though the plot of the film is unknown. During the production of the film, Alex seems to grow more irritable, and paranoid overtime, seemingly not caring for the film itself, excusing it for B-roll. The only reason he seems to be acting like this is after he came in contact with The Operator. Alex never seemed to act like this as mentioned from the interview Jay had in one entry about how Alex was an alright director but after a bit he started to seemingly get more irritated and shouting at them more often and always carried this little camera with him. He seemed to be more fun and social as seen in a few entries, he seems less paranoid and carefree, mainly having fun with his film before his encounter with the Operator.
His different behavior before and after meeting the Operator can be seen on the notes he writes on a few of the entries, he seems to care about the cast in his college film as seen in blog #5 notes
’ I’ve spent the past few days punching up the script now that I know the actors I have at my disposal. Most of what I’ve done centers around changing up a few lines of dialogue and action for the character of Tim. I’m mainly doing this because, upon further thought, I should make the character of Tim mesh better with the actor of Tim, who is also Tim. Two reasons I felt I should do this. One being the fact that I don’t want Tim the actor to have to stretch himself too much more than the other actors, since he’s not been in a film before. The second is that I want his first experience to be a good one! I’m taking a chance with him but I know he won’t disappoint me.’
You can see that Alex seems to care about Tim and how his first experience with acting should be an enjoyable one for him, and that he would also make sure that Tim shouldn’t stretch himself too much, unlike how Alex acts after meeting the Operator seeing how Tim describes Alex at one point saying he started to shout at him and the other cast more than he unusually did.
