plant parenting

Hi there! I received my second-ever plant today. His name is Ralph, and he's my first air plant. I used to have a cactus plant named Peter back in college. Unfortunately, my dad didn't know that Peter needed to be watered and Peter died. Anyway, I'm really hoping that Ralph doesn't die! I get worried about keeping plants, because I do not want them to die. Do any of you all have a green thumb? What type(s) of plants do you have? By the way, in terms of pets, I have a cat, a green wing macaw, and a bunch of hyacinth macaws. I have to be careful about what kinds of plants I buy, since they need to be cat-cafe and parrot-safe.
