A Recap of 2022 So Far

I might make another one since there's still two more months before 2022 comes to a close but I figured I'd make a blog going over some of my favorite moments of 2022 at this point.

I can't seem to recall what happened in January, February or even March so I'll just skip those.

In April of 2022, I went to my first major convention in Idaho, that con being Gem State Comic-Con. That was a fantastic time as I got to meet up with some friends who were cosplaying many different characters. I also got a chance to meet some new people who were kind enough to go follow me on Instagram. The big one for me at that con was meeting Jack Guzman who played Danny Delgado in Power Rangers Wild Force! He's a cool guy I'm happy to say and when I told him he is the first Power Ranger actor I met, he felt humbled! Also, April happened to be my birth month so I celebrated my birthday twice - once with family and the second was with a couple of friends and we went to Big Al's. For those who are unaware of what that is, Big Al's is a large arcade and bowling family fun center and the only locations are in Meridian in Idaho, Beaverton in Oregon, Ontario and Silicon Valley in California and Vancouver in Washington state. If anyone happens to be living in those places and have somehow been living under a rock, go check it out!

Late May to early June, My aunt and cousins from the eastern side of the U.S. came to visit to help out our grandpa with a lot of stuff. I managed to have a special day with my cousins as we went to town to enjoy ourselves. We went and saw Top Gun: Maverick and we all enjoyed it! (Top Gun: Maverick itself is my favorite movie of 2022 so far).

In August, I went to the Cosplay Festival Gathering. It was basically an outdoor convention of sorts. I once again got to meet some new people and others I recognized from Gem State Comic Con.

My biggest highlight so far was my trip to Oregon to hang out with my dad. We primarily stayed in the coast, namely Seaside and did a lot of fun things. We saw Top Gun: Maverick again but we didn't care, we all loved it hehe! We went to the Astoria Film Museum and got a chance to learn about the many films that were filmed in Oregon including but not exclusive to The Goonies and The Shining. I've given Astoria the nickname of "Goonies Central" because it had quite a bit of merchandise in the gift store of the Astoria Column and at the museum too. During our first day there, I went to a Chinese restaurant there and oh my goodness gravy (I'm not a cursing type of person) the food there was DEEELICIOUS!! Their orange chicken was exquisite and heavenly! It was even better than Panda Express's orange chicken! If I ever do go back to Seaside again, I'm definitely going back to that restaurant!

Something I should make clear on, 2022 has been a mixed year for me at the moment since not everyone was good about it. And trust me, when it came to the bad it was a HUGE disappointment. I tend to highlight the best in a lot of things first.

I might make another blog entry going over everything (even the bad parts of 2022) but we'll wait and see on that.

Thanks for reading!
