What The Dave Doin'?

Hi everyone. The last few days has been interesting. In the first "What The Dave Doin'?" and "Two Daves To Go." I talked about me moving from Champaign, Illinois to Macomb, Illinois, well it happened. Now I'm aware the 28th was five days ago already, but I technically did not get up to Macomb until the 30th. The 28th I stayed at my parents because my sister was going to be working and would not be home when we arrived from Champaign, The 29th is when I realized everything of value I owned was stolen from my storage unit, You can read about that in my post "I lost Everything." Then my parent had a weenie roast so I stayed there again.

One Small Step, An Even Greater Fall.

That brings me to actually being in the weird ass backwash city of MACOMB, ILLINOS. I tell you what this place is weird. Not really a lot of stores to be honest, they say they go for a more local thing, but there's not even a lot of local businesses other than some restaurants and book stores. Unlike Champaign, instead of constant murders it's only one every few months soo it is safer I guess. There is this one spot by Dollar General here though where is smells like cat piss, but only at the one exact spot. I've noticed some nice murals on some walls, I'll have to get pictures of those. I did learn the bus is free though and I'm down with that. Got some bowling alleys, parks, theaters, & a Dollar Tree. (always a favorite)

Video-wise I got a few idea:

• Geocaching

There are a lot of geocaches here and I can't wait to track down which ever ones I can.

• Restaurant Reviews

There's multiple restaurants here including a place that has chicken tenders larger than my phone. That sounds like a great place to take my son, he'll destroy some tenders. I heard there's some good bars and clubs here as well, but since my license never came in the mail last time I updated my address with the DMV I have to wait before trying to review those.

• My New Home Macomb

This is going to be a fun video, I plan on learning some of the history here, explore the city, and to discuss my likes and dislikes. I may even try interviewing a few Western students to see how they feel about the city.

• The Springlake Project

The SpringLake Project is something I'll be discussing closer to Summertime.

There is an abandoned hotel here I kinda wanna check out, but I really don't wanna end up with a trespassing fine.

Work

I start work on Thursday the 3rd, well shit it's midnight so I guess Tomorrow. Good thing is I  get some decent hours right away. My manager had me come down to tour the store and meet everyone today. Wild bunch they are, mid conversation and someone will just look at the other person and be like "Shut the fuck up." Which is literally how we treated each other at Green St so I should feel at home. I was not expecting to walk in the office and see that my general manager is a little person, but that means one thing..

All jokes aside it seems like a great place and the team doesn't seem like a lot of monsters. As I said though I start Thursday and I'll really get to find out then.

FINDING A HOME!

I'm currently staying at my sisters, but today her and I get to look at LEXINGTON CONCORD. It's an apartment complex that has a pool, gym, and wifi that comes with it. It's just gonna cost me around $900 a month. There's a good friend who we might let move in with us who agreed to babysit so my wife and I don't have to Struggle to find work around each other so we'd have to find a 3bd place if she does decide to find a place with us. That friend has an amazing set of lungs though and I recommend you definitely checking out her cover of Other side by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Enjoy!
