Our naive smiles and youthful eyes
Once glistened in perfect time
Whilst humming summer songs
Along the oceanside.
Suspended in this rhythm,
Dancing underneath the moon
Whose guiding light chose you,
Chose you all.
All this drowned in Chardonnay.
No room for harmony on our stage.
A victim to the wine I became,
And from you, I cast away.
Torn from my heart, stripped of my soul,
Our kinship which once blossomed
Now lies shriveled and cold.
Nothing like the story we once told.
