squid of the day: japanese flying squid

everything's in the name -- these flying squids can grow to a sizeable 50cm in length, and launch themselves out of the water using jet propulsion! specifically, it uses a muscle located near its beak to shoot water out with such incredible force that its able to launch up to 30m over the water.
