March Musings (22-3-22)

Nostalgia for the past

bares its nails into the present flesh

blood of the future drips from our old bones.

We are tired,

left exhausted of having to pick up the pieces of historic events

IN THESE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES.

Making sourdough bread

by hands cracked by wars, famine, and the symptoms of systemic racism and climate change

leaves a metallic taste

with the hint of capitalism that gnaws on our crippling body of debt.

Poor education prepared us to fail

IN THESE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES.

Nostalgia will now offer the fountain of youth

For haggard bodies

The mere escape of nostalgic past times will not keep us alive

IN THESE UNPRECEDENTED TIMES
