Dance of Dalliance

Tall, glamorous, elegant

a sight to behold

flamboyant in his attire
he preens; invading her space

shameless, so bold!

unimpressed, she remains unruffled

he shimmies and shakes

parading his dance

such a ritual he performs

in the name of a little romance!

the 'bevy' of beauties,

a harem of sorts

remain unperturbed,

an article he makes of himself

as he rattles and cavorts!

Suddenly the sun appears

reflective

altering his structures

ethereal, pristine clear

of microscopic crystals

fluorescent, iridescent

Many 'eyes' are upon him

revealing, then concealing,

he blazes his trail

as a bride in her wedding gown...

plumage of satin emerald

regalia, he wears the Crown,

quills dazzle in blue azure

His fantail on full display

he delivers...

she quivers

responding to his love call

succumbing to his allure.
