the space-bending machinations of petco stores

hi! This is my first post on spacehey.com , and with the 2010's rolling forth i would like my first ever blog post to be about the local petco i am obliged to forage for litter in. as an owner of more than 3 cats i have to refill the sand box about every 2-3 weeks which means a single trip to the petco not too far away from here

and there's nothing much to say about the daily tedium of caring for your domestic creatures except the store itself. it's fucked up and is probably the only building to give me a sensation close to the one i got reading the house on haunted hill (for the unread, here's a quote: "An ordinary house would not have had the four of us in such confusion for so long, and yet time after time we choose the wrong doors, the room we want eludes us ... Angles which you assume are the right angles you are accustomed to, and have every right to expect are true, are actually a fraction of a degree off in one direction or another."

there are no doors or dramatic hallways as much as there are 10-15 aisles, and the destination is the single refill box, full of sand, standing at the northeast section of the store (however as you will soon find, directions are more relative in petco) even after maybe something like 8 or more visits there, both i and every other person in my family is confused or surprised when we stumble across the refill box when we thought it was gonna be closer, or farther away, or more to the left/the right or anywhere else except where it is at the present

i even drew a map of the place and every detail about it seems weirdly off or just blurry in my memory:

the doors are down-left, the red square is the box (i am absolutely sure its longer than that but there's nothing else to put in between the doors and box (and no, all other stores i went to in my life feel at least ordered and feels like i can find my way around them, this is the only one that legitimately challenged my spatial perception))

every single time i visit there and head of the refill, empty box in hand, it feels like the store rotated itself from 5 to 30 degrees in either direction, or elongated/shortened itself. i stumble upon the refill box with my expectations of its whereabouts shattered despite ridding myself of any expectations entering the place. has anybody else had this happen? am i insane?

also can someone tell me how to embed images in blogs
