you existed just fine without me.
me, on the other hand.
i couldn't go a minute without thinking about the way your eyes crinkle when you laugh
the way you talk with your hands whenever you speak about something that you're passionate about
the way your eyebrows furrow when you're looking through your phone
the way you talk in your sleep
you walk like you always have somewhere to be
and your hands are rough and cracked
but yet, they're full of comfort.
it wasn't enough for me to love you.
while i thought about your caramel eyes, you thought about another smile
the way her body moves like waves in the ocean to rhythm of your heartbeat
the way her lips felt like forbidden fruit, a feeling of excitement you no longer felt when you kissed me
it wasn't enough for me to love you
you existed just fine without me
and even when i knew
i didn't care
because when it wasn't enough for me to love you
it was at least enough for me to pretend like
i was enough to be loved
