been getting more and more into electronic music lately. partially due to me playing lots of WipEout and tetris lately, as well as my recent club experience and fawkes' music recs. started with barber beats, started listening to the things i used to as a preteen (deadmau5, wolfgang gartner, glitch mob, daft punk, bonobo), and am currently diving into pre-brostep dubstep. currently going off a list i found on a video about the former glory of dubstep, but i will definitely be doing my own searching once i make my way through it.
i guess it has the same function as post rock. in that, due to it being instrumental and droning, i don't really think. i just kinda sit and listen to the sounds as i maybe do something. except, i use post rock when reading and sleeping, as something light and sometimes chaotic to keep my ears occupied but not overwhelmed. dubstep, meanwhile, commands my attention. especially with my sub-bassy headphones, the warbling bass rattles my ears and brain while the mids and highs give the bass some sort of meaning. but through it all, i am just a part of the droning sounds. i don't have any emotions running through my mind with this music, unlike all other music, but rather i am just being. chilling. letting the wubs and the wooshes overcome me.
yeah, something like that.
