so i go to a charter school thats like a safe haven for queer kids who have been heavily harassed at their previous schools. it should go without saying that the teachers should be accepting of the students here since the motto of the school is "We accept your kids no matter their gender identity and expression" like thats literally the first thing on the school website. well the history teacher, mr cock, is a total homophobe. for the 6 weeks ive been attending this school he has deadnamed all my trans/nonbinary friends and misgendered all of them. when we all try to correct him he goes on the same tangent that he doesn't believe in pronouns and that we're all just dumb teens. hes even gotten so mad with one of my friends that he called their mom in front of the whole class and told her to educate her kid when she is literally one of the most accepting parents ive ever met. she got mad at him and has a parent teacher conference scheduled for this upcoming monday. my friends and i have gone to the counselor and the principal about this teacher multiple times but because we're kids they just dont listen. our goal is to just get him to respect pronouns and if he cant do that then he shouldnt be teaching at a queer school.
