Now, this isnt the kind of blog that i usually post, but i felt the need to inform everyone. The grey alien is a popular concept within science fiction media and literature, they have been deemed as iconic extraterrestrial creatures for decades, and most people who believe in aliens completely disregard the fact that this concept is far, far too humanoid to be a creature of the galaxy. (the common representation of grey aliens. big black eyes, inverted teardrop shaped head, smooth, grey skin.)
-THE HISTORY-
So, one may ask, where did this concept come from? Why are grey aliens so iconic, yet nobody knows the roots of the concept? Well, let's go back over 100 years. In 1893, H. G. Wells created an article representing what the human race would look like in a million years, The Man of the Year Million, stating that humans may evolve into creatures with no mouths, no noses, and no hair, as well as very large heads. There was an illustration of this concept, although i don't have the image, it showed a perfect representation of the description of man in the article, and they looked an awful lot like the modern representation of aliens. This, however, was taken the wrong way by people, and was mistaken for a concept of possible extraterrestrial life. Although this is not the very origins of the grey alien, it seems to be what popularized the concept of these creatures being the very life that we so long to see.
-WHY DO WE STILL BELIEVE THEY ARE REAL?-
Us humans are total idiots. We believe that intelligent life is always humanoid, some humans refuse to believe that dolphins are almost as intelligent as us, and most of us believe that aliens are more intelligent than life on earth. The thought process behind this could be as simple as "humanoid = smart" which is not the case whatsoever. We don't even know if aliens are advanced as we make them out to be. The current studies that NASA is performing is that they're trying to find evidence of even simply bacterial life on different planets in our solar system.
-THE SCIENTIFIC POSSIBILITIES-
Scientifically, the grey alien is impossible without any human DNA. We humans find them frightening because they're so unfamiliarly familiar, in a way. Humans don't know how to react to newly discovered creatures with zero familiarity to humans, and grey aliens are just the easiest way to get across the fears, as they are recognizable. But, as we all know, humans distantly evolved from apes, aka, EARTH ANIMALS. An extraterrestrial creature who lives and evolves on a planet that isn't earth couldn't possibly have the DNA to look anything like a human or an ape of some sort. But, there could be a possibility of slightly humanoid extraterrestrial beings, as long as they have some sort of relation to humans. For example, the xenomorph creatures in the Alien franchise. Their way of reproduction through humans is the face-huggers, which latch on to humans faces and lay eggs in their stomach, which eventually burst out. These fictional aliens have had access to human DNA, yet still look equally as alien. That's one of the few good representations of humanoid aliens.
As you can see, they are equally as humanoid as they are extraterrestrial looking, and that is thanks to human DNA that they had absorbed before birth.
So, to summarize this, the classic grey alien is a very unlikely lifeform, even with human DNA, it would be very unlikely that they could completely be replicated from the popular sci-fi representation of aliens.

BTW this is not me denying extraterrestrial life as a whole, just denying the humanoid ones. I believe in aliens, just not blindly like some sci-fi fans do XD
