Idk, a lot of ppl have this holier than thou attitude about many things and when it's something they care deeply about; to them anything can be deemed a threat.
Like a TV show but have a different opinion about it? Poser. You like playing games but you just started out? Poser. You love the aesthetic of emo but can't afford it? Poser.
Ppl gotta start encouraging others to join their little groups instead of acting like they need to sign their soul to goatman to even be considered "authentic"
Well, if it makes you feel any better. Edgy groups like that or way more about mentality than how you dress. If you like it, you like it and you're apart of it.
