I think talking to my friend about being old and the good 'ol days triggered something in my brain to suddenly want to listen to the weeb music I always listened to as a teen. I liked stuff like Vocaloid and Utauloid a bit, along with other -loid stuff sometimes, but never got super into it. Utaites however, I borderline had an addiction to listening to them, or more like I was a hardcore fangirl of Fukuwa.
I looove listening to "Nico Nico Choruses" as well, which is what introduced me to Utaites I believe. Heh, actually it's a domino effect now that I think about it. Cousin talking about talking to people online caused me to join a site for instant messaging and creating chatrooms, person on that site showed me a YTP which got me into those, it then leads to me finding the Ronald McDonald Insanity video causing me to get into YTPMVs and Touhou, Touhou leads me into finding the Bad Apple video, and finally after loving that song so much, Youtube recommended me several Nico Nico Chorus videos for it. Yup, that's probably as crazy as my life will ever get.
Anyways maybe I should try finding more singers or songs instead of listening to the same exact playlist I had for years. I'm sure most of the ones I listened to have actual careers now or maybe they have a family now. Crazy to think I might be as old or a little older than probably the ages most people start singing as a hobby on Nico Douga. I wonder if being an Utaite is even still a big thing, maybe I'll find out soon.
Oh another thing, I actually bothered plugging my external hard drive into my barely functioning laptop yesterday, being hopeful I've retrieved realllly old Choruses or anything that I cannot find on Youtube anymore. Guess they could be on Nico Douga still but I can't read or write Japanese and I'm sure the long gone videos are probably buried deep down with very few views. I assumed when I looked around years ago the most popular videos were translated, I'm sure translating everrryyyy video would take a very long time.
